I am working on a debate/discussion forums and I need some help creating and organizing the categories/forums. I want to keep the list kinda small to avoid having members agonizing over where to post. An example of what I think will work would be the government category that I have already created.
I have Government for the category and Politics and Law for the forums underneath. Can yall give me some ideas for the rest? Categorizing the whole of the human experience is rather a daunting task. Everything I come up with sounds to pyscho babble or requires a million sub categories/forums.

Why don't you start off with a few forums and create one (in a seperate category?) for suggestions? Just let your members suggest new forums and then you decide whether or not it's a viable suggestion. You could even create a poll about it to make it democratic and give things more of a community feel by really involving the members in how the forums develop....

RebelTech ; what Roland said
Okay, serious now : I also think you should leave it up to the users, and let it grow automatically. Don't tire your users with unused fora/categories...it will make them hesitate to post since they will not be sure where to post.
