Thanks for the link but I get nervous installing free software on my machine since I do development on it (can't crash or get nuked).

I have found that this is program is highly ranked:

SpyBot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) and AdAware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) are recommended by the guys from the ScreenSavers on TechTV.

I use AdAware and on occasion use SpyBot sometimes. But I prefer AdAware, just because it's easier to use for me.
