Let's say I am using Window ME and I want to install Win 2000. But, then I change my mind. How do I get rid of the message where it ask you which OS to boot within few seconds? Thanks.

In Windows 2000:

right click on My Computer and choose Properties

goto the Advanced Tab and then click on the button labeled Startup and Recovery

There you should see a dropdown list for the Default Operating System. Just choose what you want to be the default and then uncheck the box just below it (Display list of Operating Systems for)

Then click on OK and then click on OK again.

I have never used ME but the option can be found in Windows2000 by right clicking My Computer, select Properties,
Click the Advanced Tab , Click the radio button for Startup & Recovery. You will see some options in there for System Startup. Set your configurations as you wish & your all set.I also think the same holds true for
XP Pro...not sure about the home edition.

Actually the Win 2000 wasn't complete installed. It's just the setup menu only and the current os running is ME.

see here, seems to be a similar to your situation:

specifically, this part (the accepted answer):

all of the above lines were located in the msdos.sys file.
What i did to correct this is boot up with ME bootdisk.
Once at the a:\ prompt i did a sys c:
transferred successfully. this worked out, now boots to winME

Thank You for your help!
