I'm developing a forum on my own server. I've applied a few mods (Private Messaging, Photo Albums, Avatars, FlashChat) and had the usual teething problems there
Now I've discovered that new users cannot register- I know it's probably a MOD problem and should be posted there, but I dunno which one caused it.
If you try to register, you get a 500 Internal Server Error after accepting the terms. (Server is running Windows Server 2003 Enterprise). I cannot even register for them locally, so I know it isn't the HTTP Referrer problem
The forum is at http://204.116.141.6:8000 and is open to browsing. I'll be happy to post text files if needed.
I've also noticed another problem which might be related. If you're a guest, everything works. If you're a user, and you're in a topic, then you get the little yellow exclamtion point at the bottom left of the browser, giving a syntax error in topic.asp, although almost everything works (think you can't preview posts).
I have another forum, which has been extensively modified, but it was so long ago I forgot most of my fixes
I don't often ask for help, but this time I need it! |

If you are using IE, turn off show friendly HTTP errors. This is the error I am seeing, you are missing a closing "
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0409'
Unterminated string constant
/register.asp, line 185
strSql = strSql & ", '" & chkString(rsKey("M_AVATAR_URL"),"SqlString") & "' ---------------------------------------------------------------------------^ |
