Lets say on post.asp when the user clicks "Post New Topic" it opens up the post_info.asp file in a new window and submits the new post while still leaving post.asp page with all the data in the page. Im sure this can be done somehow but for some reason my mind is going blank.

not for a link, but a form submitting like

<form action="/forum/topic.asp" method="post" id="form2" name="form2">
<textarea name="Message" cols="50" rows="6" wrap="VIRTUAL" style="width:100%"></textarea>
<input name="Submit" type="submit" value="Submit Reply"> <input name="Preview" type="button" value="Preview Reply" onclick="OpenPreview()">
</form>

I want the above form to be submitted to a new window that will pop up when you click Submit

OIC. Just add the target property to the Form tag.

If you are doing it in Dreamweaver MX - it comes with that option for specifying target doesn't it ??

unless I am misunderstanding things....

eg

<form action="http://madethisup.asp" method="post" name="form1" target="_blank">
<input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Submit">
</form>

seems to work on this end on my dev server....

if I am talking rubbish - and I have misunderstood - just ignore me

Yea, that was the main question, sorry I just didn't make myself clear from the start.
