Hi everyone,
I installed the poll mode about a month ago and it was working fine, but some people had trouble using it. (I think they were clicking on "view results" before they voted). I originally had the option turned off that let them do this, but ultimately caved in and set it so that they could do it. They were all happy because they could now vote. The only strange thing now is - every time I go to a poll, it gives me the option to vote again... and I can vote an unlimited number of times. I don't like this and would like to correct it. Here are the current settings in the admin panel>
Polls: On: Off:
Show Featured Poll: On: Off:
Show Featured Poll in seperate table: On: Off:
Open Featured Poll in New Window: On: Off:
Hide Featured Poll after voting: On: Off:
Allow Users to View Poll Results Before Voting: On: Off:
Max. Number of Poll Answers: 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15
Please let me know if you have any ideas.

I have noticed on my forum that I will vote then later on (a couple of days) I get the option to vote again. The results has my vote counted but if I look at whos voted I am missing. So in other words there may be 17 votes but 16 members voted. It only seems to be me - the admin - that always ends up missing.
I have modified the poll mod so only some members can vote. I have five different levels of membership that identify what state they belong to. So I am thinking it is in my modifications that is causing this. However I thought I would bring this up just in case it helps.  |

Let me explain how the poll mod works.
The poll you created in the link you posted, allows for all members to vote.
- When the user IS NOT logged in, it stores a cookie on thier computer, so they won't be able to vote again.
- When the user IS logged in, it stores a cookie on the users computer AND stores the info into the database, so they won't be able to vote again. |
