I am in the process of selecting a low-cost host for my web-site and forum. I would appreciate any feedback you folks have (+ or -) about my short-list:
Thanks everyone!

have you thought of http://www.reddiweb.com/ (owned by HuwR) and http://www.kiwibloke.com/ (owned by Gremlin)? They might be able to help you out too and their prices are good.

Some people have said that they have heard that setting up with turl="http://www.hostonce.com"]Hostonce[/url] has been troublesome but after setting up with them I blame it on my lack of knowledge. Give them a try if you want.

I know this is not a webhosting forum and don't think this should be discussed here but seriously, I would avoid hostonce form personal experience. Ok, I'm done...no more talking about hosting.

It's true that this isn't a hosting forum, but you can suggest hosts. It's been done in the past weeks. Just don't start rants about how bad a host is and try to keep these topics to a minimum.

I also say steer clear from hostonce.com from my personal experience of hosting with them. You should try www.parcom.net on one of their pro or advanced accounts which they can sort out any troubles you may have if hosted on win2k3 servers.

I only ask the question to tap the collective knowledge of the Snitz Community. If one is discouraged from discussing certain topics because of a conflict with the business interests of certain prominent members of the community, one must question the true value of the Community as a whole.

This topic is locked not due to any conflicts, but in spite of admonitions about not posting negative comments about hosts some people can't seem to restrain themselves.

It has nothing to do with a conflict of interests from anybody. It is because of previous behaviour and posts by ordinary members that we no longer encourage discussions about hosting.
