OK. Here are a couple pics. All these were taken at the economy quality level. The first two were sized down from the original size(I reduced image size later in my playing), otherwise no editing took place...
A picture of our living room lamp from across the room:
and the same picture zoomed in a little closer:
a picture outside my office window: and zoomed in on the guy near the road in the same pic:
There is this cool feature where you can take pictures in different color modes. Here is a picture of some flowers my kids picked for my wife the other day at the store: the same flowers in the vibrant color mode: how about in b&w? or better yet, sepia?
Things that are GREAT about the camera:
Startup and shutdown - very fast
Great menu. Very easy to navigate
Continuous picture mode is awesome. Hold down the shutter button and it starts snapping. When you release the button, it saves the last six shots for ya.
Control of picture sizes - four picture sizes (down to 640x480 - most of the others don't go that small) and three quality levels on them
Auto focus is FAST - even better if set to do it fulltime.
Zoom is amazing!
Stability is impressive. I shook the heck out of the camera and it still took a good pic. Will be good for what I want to use it for (chorus and quartet pics)
Default speed is fastest I've dealt with in a digital camera. Most have a lag, this one doesn't.
couple nitpicky things I wish it did better:
wish it took better pictures in low light w/o the flash. Very yellow quality to the pics. Also blurred sometimes for some reason
There is a default setting with sounds for operations. Haven't figured out how to turn that off yet (if possible - at least turn it down)
Focus can get a little flaky when zoomed into something you're close to. I'm pretty sure that's better in the macro/super macro mode, but I haven't gotten into those yet.

Wow, thanks for those pics! That cam has got a very impressive zoom there, wow. I'll try to find a shop where I can test it. BTW I've just checked some price compare sites and it's about EUR 400 here in Austria.

That's a good bit cheaper than in the US. I paid $400 US for it yesterday. I coulda saved a few dollars ordering it online, but it woulda been a wash after S&H. Plus I got it sooner this way
