Hmm, that's odd, been using this for a while with no problems. Can you post a .txt version of your pop_profile.asp with the change made?

That'll be because I am an "idjit"!!!!
Lets try http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~dibley/txt/pop_profile.txt
slipped an 'e' into the "txt" folder. Doh! Sorry to waste you time with that...
I have just double checked the link in the preview window... It works! |

Well, you got me stumped, everything looks fine. The only thing I can think of is that you didn't change intRankLevel5 in the if statement to intRankLevel3 (or whichever you were using) but that shouldn't cause the script to timeout. Try comenting out the code related to member posts and just doing a check for mlev, see if it still times out.

Ok, MeTV, I will give it a go, and post the result on here.
I must confess, I did forget that>>>> quote: The only thing I can think of is that you didn't change intRankLevel5 in the if statement to intRankLevel3 (or whichever you were using)
so I will try that first...

Well I don't know. I have just done it all again, and changed the "intRankLevel3" to match the other one, and hey presto! it worked first time. So was it that? or a "caching" over the net problem? (I did shut my browsers (I.E. and mozilla) down each time I tested) I don't know. But it works!
Thank you for your help on this one, MeTV.
I don't suppose you are a wizz with the photo album MOD by any chance? As with a few others members on this thread
http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=36636&whichpage=6
I can not get the MOD to point at the correct file on my Brinkster server.
Only joking, you have helped me enough. Thanks again.

Glad you got in working, man, don't know why the difference in intRankLevels would have caused the script to timeout though.
Never used the Photo Album Mod myself, so I can't be of much help there.

I can't get the code to work. I've added it, uploaded the .asp files and don't get any errors. But, members w/ intRankLevel5 still cannot change their title.
I changed it to look like:
if (strMode = "goModify") or (strMode = "goEdit" and (rs("M_POSTS") >= intRankLevel5)) then
I don't want Moderators changing their title's, so omitted that part.
EDIT - I had to go back and put or rs("M_LEVEL") = 3 back in, it wouldn't let anybody change the Title w/o it. |
