config.asp =============================== '##### My Avatar addon 1-1 : add below 1 line '##### My Avatar addon 1-2 : add below 5 lines
etc. etc.

Well, it should say what text to modify, but if it just says to add the stuff around a certain line, your best bet would be to open the file up in DreamWeaver, as that program tells you what lines you are modifying. |

The files you need to modify, and the code to them, will be together with the MOD, usually.
quote: Step.3 7 files need modified...... (do'nt worry, all are simple modification... ^_^ )
config.asp =============================== '##### My Avatar addon 1-1 : add below 1 line '##### My Avatar addon 1-2 : add below 5 lines
This means usually that this code and how to modify it, is in a file attached in the MOD.
Forexample.: If There are a file called Maa_Topic.asp if means: Dont just upload this, it is a copy of the Topic.asp file with the MOD changes in it, and usually the code hint's quote: '##### My Avatar addon 1-1 : add below 1 line '##### My Avatar addon 1-2 : add below 5 lines
are applyed to this file. Find the code changes in the code from Maa_Topic.asp and add them to yor own Topic.asp Or you could rename the Maa_Topic.asp to Topic.asp and then upload this file, but be aware all other changes you have made erlier would then be lost, it is better to manually edit your own file. Just be sure to make backup copy's of the files you are modifying
The reason you only see a blank page when you open the files in dreamweaver is because you are not in code view, do this and the code will appear. In dreamweaver you can right click a document and, "find and replace" it's a very good option to locate the changes you have to make.
I have just an hour ago installed this MOD myself to test it to see if it's worth it, I haven't gotten around to the testing how nice it is yet, but for me the code is working. So hang on.

If you can just replace the old asp.files with the new ones you will save yourself a headache. |

Yes you'll save youself a headache, BUT it is a ONE TIME doing, for the next time you do this, you will erase the changes you've made last time. It is much better to Manually edit the files, That way you also learn alot about the code, I myself have translated my own Snitz, And that is translated all, ADMIN, buttons etc. and I'va learned quite alot without being a programmer in any way. |
