Hi, We are a record label developing a site, and i need to create some way of downloading music and rating it. I've set up snitz with the file downloads but i need assistance with the rating script.... anyone interested in helping out please?
I know ASP but i'm not familiar with the infrastructure of snitz forums..
Any assistance greatly appreciated
Thanks

i looked at your demo site but could see no link manager lol, maybe i'm just being lame
Also, does link manager allow the upload of files? i take it that this has to be achieved some other way and then you just link to the file?
sorry if i'm being lame, but i'm on my way out and don't have time to research this properly ;) |

The Links Manager Beta is available here (a click at "Links" in the top menu would have done the trick).
ahh, yes that looks excellent.
We need a way of people adding their music to our website and other members rating the files. Your demo shows me that this is exactly what we need. [with the addition of a custom chart type display of the top 10 rated tracks]

File upload is NOT included in the Links Manager MOD, but you can link to you files. There are various upload MODs available, just do a search in the MOD W/Code forum.
ok, well i've got my forum working so that people can upload tracks. Problem is, its hosted on a machine with a botched IIS installation, so we arent allowed to create virtual directories :( [don't ask, admin problems!!!] but i have enabled the forums to accept file attachments, so people can attach their files onto posts and then use the links in your link manager.
I'll have a go with your script tomorrow. Thanks for your help and for creating this ;)

Click onto the 'admin options' link... (admin home)
You will see a 'link administration' under 'Other Configuration Options and Features'

thanks
