www.findaneasierway.com is a UK based forum for sharing ideas and innnovations in the home automation and innovation arena. I have delivered two forums from the Snitz Forum pages which were amazingly easy to configure. If home innovation and automation is your thing, then please visit www.findaneasierway.com and leave your comments/suggestion in our forums and/or guestbook.

There are two forums, so if you click on 'Inventors/Trade' or 'Public' it should take you to the appropriate place. The 'Forums' heading is just a banner.
If you have any more probs, please let me know.

No such thing as a stupid user. I will bear in mind when I review the site. If the mistake is that easy to make, it is clearly my fault, not the users.
Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Casper

The colour scheme with the existing site is a good match, its a fairly standard Snitz install, you might want to visit http://www.snitzbitz.com and maybe mod it a bit and customise it a bit, but thats personal preference, depending on what you want it for
A few comments design wise: - I think the "Find an Easier Way" is too big, it should be smallened down a bit cos it dominates the top of the forum too much - The "Find an Easier Way" image should have a smaller border around it, and outside the border should be transparent (you can do this using fireworks, photoshop if possible) so that it is not a white box on the coloured background images - I like the background images, it makes it a lot more personalised compared to a standard snitz install, I'm just not sure about the footer bar at the bottom, "www.findaneasierway.com forums © 2000-02 Snitz Communications " - I think that looks a bit out of place, but I'm not sure what you could do to improve it exactly
Overall nice site , and sorry about the confusion with the link lol!

Thanks for your feedback. I really appreciate it.
I have tried to make the corners of the logo transparent using fireworks, but what you see is what I got. I probably need to try again, but I take you point and agree - after all, I had tried to do what you suggested already.
Re the Find An Easier Way, can you let me know what res you are viewing in as I was thinking it was a bit small, but I am in 1024x768.
Re the footed bar, ideally I would like to get rid of it. I am very happy with the Snitz graphic, but the bar breaks up the background. I am not sure how to get rid of it. Any tips would be appreciated.
Thanks again and regards,
Casper

I'm using 1024 x 768 on Win 98 at the moment. My comment was more that it squished up the header on the right hand side, and just looked to be too wide and take up too much space.
With regard to the transparent corners, I've made you a sample of what I mean, which is visible below. If you right click, save that and upload it, you will see the corners are transparent, and this will look better with your background rather than a white box
I would still recommend you make the borders smaller on this image though.
You can probably post in the Mod W/Out Code forum to see if anyone can help you out with removing the bottom bar. I would agree that you would probably have a nicer looking forum without it, as long as like you said you would the copyright remains intact.
I don't have a site with tips, its "under development" but I don't reckon it will be done for a while, I'm off on holiday in a couple of hours for a month, which is why I'm sitting here tis quite late in between packing, so its a long term goal... but not yet I would recommend you have a browse around the sites that have won the Hall of Fame Snitz award (http://forum.snitz.com/halloffame.asp) as these have some of the best designs, and may inspire some ideas |

That looks better Glad I could help! Yeah forums are great, especially Snitz.. I've just finished modding a forum with loads of mods and it worked flawlessly, even with like 10 mods installed on top of the base code. You've got to love how well customised you can make each and every forum individual just the way you like it. |

I know what you mean.
i am blown away with how good this forum is and I haven't even got into the mods yet. I am just pleased with how flawlessly it sits with the rest of my site, (without any mods). Mods are my next project. Can't wait! |

Hi FAEW,
You can change that copy right in the admin options (not sure where, but it's there ) and if you look at inc_footer.asp and try changeing the bgcolor to ""transparent"" or just remove bgcolor alltogether. Looking at the source code there are 4 places to do this, the next to the last <table> and it's 3 <td> cells (I don't think the 3 cells need color when it's called for in table, but I'm probably wrong ). The <table> isn't hard to find because inc_footer isn't very big.
Another thing you can try is changing the width of your header table the same as the rest of the forum (95%) right now it's set to 100%, it's the first table right under the body tag in "inc_header.asp". Hope this helps

Hello again, I forgot to suggest changing your font color to black, I think it will match your site better. That's all
