i currently have all of the email server configs set to "on". does an email get sent to the administrator email address when a new user registers or does the administrator have to keep checking the pending member list to see if new members need to be approved?
When a new member is pending approval, the admin will not get an email to inform him/her about it. However, if you have everything on the Email Server Configuration page set to on, there should be a line saying "N Member(s) awaiting approval" (where N is a number) next to, or below the link for the Admin Options when there are members awaiting approval.
everything is working as FrutZle described. i suppose i can insert some code to have it send an email if my client really doesnt want to be checking the forum regularly.
You could of course always create a simple hard-coded email that gets sent to the admin whenever someone registers to the forums. It shouldn't be too hard to do although I haven't really looked at those codes for some time now.
Yes, there is a Mod on Snitzbitz.com which is called email alert or something alng those lines. I have it installed, so when a member joines I get an email as the admin!
