Hi All,

My forum has several 'word association' and 'story' topics which have become many pages long.

Should I stop my users from adding to such long topics? It doesn't seem to be slowing anything down, but I worry that it will sooner or later!

I am on SQL Server btw.

Thanks for any advice!
Clare

It should be ok seeing as your on SQL Server, though at 293 pages your users might actually find it easier if you lock that one and start a fresh one for them to use :)

Thanks for your reply, sadly I think half the fun for the users is getting as many pages clocked up as possible!

I think I'll lock the topic though as you advise.

Many thanks,
Clare

I have a topic of 130 pages on Access - doesn´t seem to slow anything down, but can a single topic or a few topics like this, actually affect the performance of the entire forum, or will it only affect the long topics themselves?
