I have been going round and round trying to find a suitable forum for a site I run. It's for a LARP, and this forum would be perfect as we currently have 4 different forum sections. However, is there a way to knock off the registration aspect and allow them to enter their username and password each time? Many of the players have more than one character, and then we have the out of character forum. It's kind of a pain to have to log out and log back in just to post a few things on each section.

So in short, is there a way around the registration for users? I've only got a very basic knowledge of ASP, so if anyone replies please keep this in mind. ;)

As long as all the identities are registered once, you can post without logging in, as I'm doing now.

You'll be asked to provide your username/password when you post.

If you are talking about forum with NT Authentication turned on then unfortunately you can't.
This is because the account for the forum is tied to the NT user account. Meaning to say that each NT user account is allow only one forum account.
