I tried to manually activate a persons account (on the members pending link) and I got this error:
error '80020009'
Exception occurred.

/inc_func_common.asp, line 453

What is wrong?

I am still waiting for a reply but do I have to approve registration for the member to be sent the validation e-mail?

I find it weird that line 453 can cause such an error. Try adding this before the line:

Response.Write recBadWordCount
Response.End

Then let me know what it is shown.

Ok. I have been wanting to ask this question (because I saw a post somewhere regarding it but have no idea where), in notepad, how do I find line numbers? I thought I remember Nikkol saying something about ctrl+G but I am not sure.

Using CTRL G (in NotePad) will take you to the line number you enter.

I would recommend getting your hands on a better text editor that can display line numbers. Myself, I use TextPad for everything, but there are other options. If you look around there's been a couple of threads on the subject.

Guess Ill bring this up again. I would still like to use this MOD.
Response.Write recBadWordCount
Response.End
That above is not found in inc_func_member.asp. I added it but it hasnt seemed to fix it. On the other hand it didnt seem to hurt it either. When i first uploaded the fix and refreshed the page it said ACTIVATION KEY NOT FOUND. I tried registering again and the e-mail went through but when I clicked on the link it had the same error. Any suggestions?
