I just installed Snitz 3.4.03, and I'm getting this error:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01b6'
Object doesn't support this property or method: 'Session.LCID'
/forums/config.asp, line 41
I commented out line 41, and I was able to successfully install forum and create tables. However, when I'm logged in as admin, none of my changes to "Main Forum Configuration" stick.
For example, when I change Forum's Title to "My Forum" and click submit, I get:
Configuration Posted! Congratulations!
However, the title throughout the entire forum is still "Snitz Forums 2000." And when I go back to Main Forum Config, the Title is back to "Snitz Forums 2000."
The same thing happens when I change ANY preference...title image, colors, fonts, etc. Is this something I'm just going to have to hard code? And does anyone know if it's related to the Session.LCID error?
I appreciate any insight, and thanks in advance!
FYI, I'm using a hosting service running Windows NT 4.0 (http://www.shanje.com).

I checked out the FAQ of the hosting service.
It says the FileSystemObject is permanently disabled for security reasons.
Also it says they do not support CDONTS.
Other info: ...servers have the VB5/VB6 runtimes installed. Additionally, we have installed most of the ActiveX components that ship with VB5. ...We are using the latest version of the MS scripting engine.
Could this be causing the problems? Thanks for your help. |

It goes to the "Configuration Posted!" screen, but nothing actually changes. The functionality of the forum works. And so does registration. The bad word filter and Username filter config work too. So maybe I should just edit style variables using Access and then upload to the server. It doesn't look like web-based admin will work for main, feature, email server, or color code config. |

I would submit a help ticket with your host before you do that and tell them that you don't think the application variables are working the way they should.
I bet if you check the database, you will see the values that you have already changed them to ... they just aren't getting loaded into the app variables. |

I changed several forum, feature, and color settings. Then downloaded the db. But when I opened it in Access, the FORUM_CONFIG_NEW table only had the default data.
I'll take your advice and check with my host's tech support. Thanks for your help! |
