I have noticed that when someone pastes a URL (example: http://www.naffl.net) it is automatically hyperlinked. Then, if they wrap this in URL forum code tags it creates a double HREF (example: http://www.naffl.net - view code to see). Has there been any code fix implemented for this?

Not 100% certain but html tidy seems to think the following line is invalid HTML and so did the W3C validator.

<a href="http://www.naffl.net" target="_blank"><a href="http://www.naffl.net" target="_blank">http://www.naffl.net</a></a>

In which case I'd be inclined to possibly call it a bug as well, becuase it's not creating well formed HTML.

there is no reason to use [url] [/url] tags around a url like: http://www.naffl.net unless you plan on using it like this: [url="http://www.naffl.net"]click here[/url]

The tags are just being used incorrectly.

I want to write in my message 'http://railway-forum.com.' (the '.' is the peroid at the end of my sentence) So I have to use the [url] tags... still not a bug?

Didn't anyone tell you? If the url is at the end of the sentence, you're not supposed to include the period!

Read this and you'll see it's definitely user error.
