is there a mod out there that does not require you to register to post, where you just enter your name, and no password needed?

Not for Snitz v3.4.
Davio has created the Anonymouse Access MOD for Snitz v3.3.03, but unfortunately it hasn't been updated for the latest version yet.

You could create a guest account for your users, although people like to abuse those.
