One thing I've done on one of my forums, that I am now going to implement on others is shorten the page displayed on post_info.

As this is an interim page only displayed for a moment, I don't feel it's necessary to show the full header and footer. On this site, as it's just "out of the box", it's not too much of a difference, but since many of us here have modified our sites to include something "more", this can make a real difference in load time and user experience.

What I did:
I took the short header and footer and stripped out the tree menu in the header and the "close window" link in the footer and then linked to those files in post info.

Leaves me with this:

Little to load, flies through it, and just in case it gets "stuck", there's still a link back.

I think the next version of the forums should incorporate a stripped down version on post_info.asp, just a suggestion.
