Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me please.
I'm getting a "500 Internal Server Error" when I attempt to run the main page of Snitz Forums at the following URL:
http://www.codehouse.com/forums/default.asp
I had no problem running Snitz on my local Microsoft ASP server. The ASP server provided by my web service provider, LunarPages, is Sun ONE v3.6.2.
I had no trouble setting up the database either with your setup program.
All files are given the fullest permission I can muster using CPANEL. The directory permission is set to 755, and the files are set to 775.
Unfortunately, I do not think I have direct access to my error logs. When I asked Lunarpages for information about the error, they said:
"I just checked the Asp error logs and its reporting the following error:
[Fri Jul 4 07:00:10 2003] Sun ONE ASP VBScript runtime error, 800a0009, Subscript out of range, inc_iconfiles.asp, line: 160"
I went into inc_iconfiles.asp, and tried to excise what might be the offending code, yet without direct access to error logs, trying to isolate the problem seems like a dubious effort.
Does anyone have any ideas regarding what might be going on here?
I really, really, really, had my heart set on using Snitz. It would really suck if I had to use something else. So please help. I'll give you free software if you help me. A plug. I'm even willing to give up my soul.

Have you made any modifications to inc_iconfiles.asp? Can you post a .txt version here?

Search is your friend “I was having a mildly paranoid day, mostly due to the fact that the mad priest lady from over the river had taken to nailing weasels to my front door again.” |

The problem occurred prior to making any modifications. The modifications that I made did not correct the problem. Or should I say, there still was a problem after my modifications, but since I cannot access my error logs, I don't know where the problems are coming from.

I don't think I was clear in the way I articulated the problem. The modifications I made did not solve the problem, so I threw them away. The problem existed before any modifications were made. |

Have you made any edits to your forum other than setting your database type & connection string in config.asp?
Oh, and what database are you using? You know you can't put an Access .mdb file on a *nix server unless your ISP actually sets up a Unix ODBC connection to your .mdb on a windows computer at their location.
One last tip, if you are using IE open Tools - Internet Options - Advanced Options and uncheck the "show friendly http errors" setting to get more detail about your error (on most servers, anyway).
