at long last i have a visible forum up but when ever anyone tries to login it treats them as a guest only, including if you login as admin, your not actually logged in ?

any ideas anyone, try it for yourself here: http://www.unity.i8i.co.uk

and let me know what may be wrong.

Most browsers by default don't except cookies through frames.

but why does it treat you as a guest instead of logging you in ? if it was just a case of not remembering that would be fine as you can log in each time.

Like Dave said, it is because you are using frames. Take the forum out of the frame and it will work fine.

You can change your default page to this:

response.redirect("forum/sitenews.asp")
%>

that will serve almost the same purpose, except the user will see http://www.unity.i8i.co.uk/forum/sitenews.asp in his/her browser address bar.
