For me, it's "close, but, no cigar". Because, even those who ARE permitted access, must be logged on before they click on the Forum, or, they, too, will be told "There was a Problem! You do not have Access to this Forum"...  And, rather than understanding that it's due to their not being logged in, they just go away and don't come back.

hey exile, here a thought why don't you change the code when lunches to that error page and tell the people to log in and redirect them to a page you write that has just the login. That would work easy enough.

If you're looking for 'Disallowed Members List' take a look at the new Usergroup MOD (http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=45449) You can create a group of disallowed members, and give them Deny permissions for the disallowed forums. Take a look. |

Thanks for the suggestion, Sacred. I can see how that might solve some of my problem. But, alas, it would not give me the ability to exclude just those members I feel should not be in that particular forum. I'll keep your suggestion in mind, though, and thanks for taking time to think on it for me! |

Thanks, homeacademy! I've already downloaded that Mod and am thinking about it in relation to what I'm trying to achieve. It looks like a really good Mod, and it may have to be the way I go on this.
Tell me, have you installed it yet? Does it do the job for you?
Was it a lot of work to install? Thanks for the suggestion and I am considering it. I'd also like to pursue the shorter route, if possible. Time is not my friend. hehe.. |
