We are NOT using NT authentication. Can we still use Autologon for those members who have already registered? Or is Autologon intended to be used only in conjunction with NT authentication?
I'm trying to avoid my users having to log in again when they get to the forum. They have to log into our site and then again at the forum. I tried using NT authentication but members that were registered BEFORE I turned it on said they couldn't post new topics. So I turned it back off.
If Autologon can't be used in this situation, is there a way to do what I'm trying to do without a major code rehaul?
The server is W2K, IIS 6 and SQL 2000. Thanks!! |

Ok. In my configuration I have "Set Cookies to" set to "forum" and "Non-Cookie Mode" is set to "off". Is that correct? When I log into the site and then click on the forum link, I have to log in again. It never remembers me.
Now, if I log into the forum and then move around the website to different areas and then go back to the forum, it remembers me...because I haven't logged out. I guess if you log out, that's it. It won't recognize you at all when you come back.
On the Snitz site, however, whenever I return here it remembers who I am. Is that because when I leave the site I didn't log out? Sorry to sound so dense but I'm just trying to understand how it works.
