Yeah, I have version 2 as well. There wasn't a version 3 offered except for limited testing as far as I know. Then there was a mention that version 4 was available for whoever wanted it. However, at the same time, 3.4 had just came out, so I think it came out at a time when the interest level just wasn't there at that time.

| Did both of you (Etymon & MeTV) get this mod before the Snitz Exchange closed, or is somewhere else where I can download it? I could really use this mod. Any ideas on where I could get it??? Any version is fine with me. TIA |

| If there is enough interest ... I may take the UserGroup Mod and update it for 3.4 BUT ONLY as it relates to grouping users ... I wasn't going to add the functionality for users to request to be members of a group and all the other stuff. What do ya'll think? If there are too many people that want the other stuff, then I'll leave the conversion to someone else. |

The user grouping is all I need. I'd love to see this mod for 3.4!

Oh, how awesome, Nikkol! Thank you!! I just want to be able to limit the activities of questionable members as to protect the community and without having to outright ban someone, and from what I have learned, the UserGroup Mod is what I need. I am pretty sure that is one of the features the UserGroup Mod provided.
If I can help with testing or whatever, please let me know.

I want to use it to control access to certain areas. We'll manually add them to the group!

Okay, then I'll work on it. Have no idea an ETA though. Just so everyone knows the function will be this: 1) admins can create groups and assign users to groups, 2) admins (and maybe moderators) can assign groups to the authorized member list of a private forum.
Thinking of maybe later including this so that an admin group can be created and moderator groups can be created, but this is on the back burner. |
