way too busy... making the background pic less bright and making it be tileable would help it a ton. |

Ouch, too much red.
The login/register buttons look kind of weird with the stars cut off... |

reeceecup, You need to take the bad with the good, after all you did ask. This thread is 4 pages long of you making changes upon changes & asking for peoples opinions. You really do not need to please the viewers here, you need to make a site that you & your users are content and happy with. After all everyone here has an opinion & it is impossible to please everyone. |

Can't believe this thread is still going. You haven't really been ok with constructive critism through any of the 4 pages of posts. You get defensive about your personal tastes. A forum is about your members not you. If you like to change things around for your personal enjoyment, rearrange your desktop weekly with whatever colors you like. Move your recycle bin around every once in a while so you have to hunt for it.
The forum should reflect the personality of the Subject matter with just a little bit of you in there.

I like Purple but better than 50% of my users don't, guess what no purple on my forum. It's their forum we are the caretakers. In your case I think you owe your users some stability, something they haven't seen in a while.
I do not have issues with subject matter of your forum but judging from your featured poll you like to manipulate your users, make them answer the question relecting your point of view. I think you believe you have some sort of power over your users by presenting information in that fashion.
Why don't you ask your users what they think of all the changes that you make to the forum, they have to live with it (or not).

Receecup,
Hey, just sittin here listening and watching the topic. May I ask you a question? If you really don't care about what other people think and it is your forum and you will do with it what you want. Why do you guys keep showing it off here? I mean 4 pages of this stuff and people here just do not have the same taste as you guys do. So why you keep coming back?
Personally, I like the flag, the background blue, the new login buttons and header graphics but really can't stand the red. Too much red, it reminds me of anger, hatred, blood, and control. Plus it bugs my eyes out when viewing it. But that is me. Personally I think it would look great if you switched the Blue and Red with eachother where the red is outlining and the blue is the main color.
Everyone, has different ideas about what makes a site. You obviously know what you are wanting for your site and the type of design you are doing. It seems to me when you are posting here you are seeking praise for a job well done. And when you are not getting it, it upsets you.
One more little tidbit, many people here, including myself come from a professional computer background. I worked 8+ years in the industry, and have worked on corporate sites. When people are developing forums whether personal or not most do so intending to attract people to their website so they will stay and participate in it.
However, it seems to me in your circumstances that is not your intent (personally I don't know what your intent is). So, when seeing the comments realize this. That most people who develop a forum site are looking at it from the perspective of getting people to participate and getting people to want to check it out and stay and read posts. So, if your intent is to please yourself then I wouldn't keep posting here because the comments you will get are not going to be from that reference point.
Many blessings to you,

hi sacred, hi reeceecup & all of you
I got to learn about people and their needs. If it is going on Iraq, there ARE the feelings here and over the oceans. - What I like on design, is the ASPECT - the pronouncement, whatever. - It all depends on the people, not on the ratio. -
So for that, I like to talk to golfmann or everyone, who BELIEVES, instead of following the crowd. - This to the red. -
Besides of that, technically, a lot to do. But better done than not. Ah, sacred? Warm regards

Cute name Not sure what you are asking or saying love. If you read my post it says nothing about her needing to follow the crowd, infact quite the opposite. Don't know if that is you thought I said or not.
Many blessings,
Sacred

Receecup,
I am very curious as to why you edit all your responses and delete what you said and left just the sad faces? I noticed it was only with the most recent.
Yours in deepest gratitude,
sacred
