i tried that before.
after the above discovery it seems to be ok. strange - like it needed to establish the link, and after doing it the first time it it 'remembers', but i had to 'persuade' it to do this. now i can log in and the admin options are coming up. strange. |

both forums are set to forum cookies. the problem is still there actually - it doesn't register my logging in unless i click somewhere FAST like 'Members' - and this is happening
1) at my original forum 2) at my new one 3) at THIS one!
its not a major problem, but presumably it will happen to everyone else who wants to register, and that IS a problem. |

did you set up the forum url in admin options correctly? once you do that, make sure you really did delete your cookies, close ALL browser windows, and start over. |

forgive me - i'm a little worried about security and because i've posted some of the details here, if theres anyone wandering about this forum looking for information, they would probably be able to go in and access the database. if you think it may be the browser i can test it myself on another puter.
i've found the cookie info. but it says 'don't edit below' just aboive it. should i alter it? guess it's not that significant.
its 3am here in the uk so i'll be signing off shortly and will check in tomorrow. you guys are great! |

5pm UK time and i'm back. OK: i've tested the site in Netscape on my machine and it looks ok. the problem arises in IE, it seems. |
