This is for dayve really, as i know he was in the army (uk, USA or what?)
Well, anyone to the point, what is it like to be in the army? I ask cos i have just signed up myself. |

If you don't like it, you can buy yourself out I believe, not sure how much they would charge you though.
I just thank god we don't have national service in the UK  |

As someone who's just about to leave the RAF (20 days and counting) after 13 years I feel somewhat qualified to answer the question 
Admittedly the RAF have life a bit easier than the Army, life is still not as difficult as it used to be (the European Court of Human Rights has helped there ). Of course, there's still a fair amount of rubbish to deal with, but overall, it's not a bad life. If you enjoy travelling then you'll definately love it (I'd highly recommend volunteering to get to the Falkland Islands - the wildlife is extraordinary!).
