I think there's still minimal support for NT until middle of this year.
Accoring to MS, the reason there's no NT patch is the operating system can't handle a change to that part of the architecture. Seems it would require a large rewrite, something they're not going to do to an OS that is phasing out.... |

I never heard about that one today, but microsoft might have provided a way to rectify the issue and make the upgrade easier to handle..
Story
On a more serious note though, how secure do you think their programs can be designed to be, i mean WRT their security approach if this kind of thing can happen, unless <conspiracy>it's done to encourage early adopters of the new software.</conspiracy>
Should their emphasis be on sales, or prolonged security / essence of their products, I mean, shouldn't they do things right the first time, or fix it before moving onto something else new in the tech tree. |

*raises hand* I still have an NT4 servers at work running MetaFrame 1.8... We've been slowly migrating the Citrix Farm to 2000 with MetaFrame XP so it shouldn't matter soon, but still good to know. |
