Right after my main server experienced a small fire I took the opportunity to blag an upgrade, only problem is that I can't fecking FTP to it!

All I get it '331 user name ok, need password'

Yeeeeesss I've checked, changed and done everything possible to the password, in fact I've tried pretty much everything. My host is baffled, the IT goons at work found a few other problems, but couldn't fix this problem.

It's really quite important that I get it back up since this server needs to be load balanced with my other struggling server to support a site that I'm hosting, which has been up and down for the past few days as a result.

Anyone have any ideas? I've used various common FTP programs, fiddled with my firewall and so on.

I knew I shouldn't have changed to Windows servers!

Could you get the host to reset your account?

I once had an experience like this, was due to having to use 'password' for password and then change it once logged in to my account.
