I just read another posting which brought up a good point: would it be worth while to modify the Authorization Type List under the Edit Forum Properties screen to include "Moderators Only"? I have manually used the Allowed Member List (Hidden) choice for this thus far, but as the members change hats over time, it would be nice to be able to grant access in this manner for behind-the-sceens discussions.
Of course, "Admins Only" could be accomplished by default - they always see everything, so it'd only be adding the "Moderators Only" choice. This could be accomplished by creating a simple boolean function to compare a memberID against a query of all moderator IDs and add it to the various IF statements that check for access rights... Just a thought. |
