I would like to hear from everyone how he honestly believes the current military conflict is going to turn out.
In plain terms:
- Who do you think will win this war?
- Why do you think so?
Just make your prediction, and give the reasons why you think so.
Before anyone tries to be a wise guy and tries to lecture me on the old truth that nobody ever wins in a war, remember that I have been around longer than most of you, and I have made that observation myself. Just click on the "Credo" line below before you do anything.

There are no winners in war because there never have been, never are, and never will be.
If you already know this, then why ask? |

I asked those who have an opinion on it. If you do not, fair enough. The quote you just made is well known, as I stated in the opening. The question pertains to the military success, as I also made quite clear. |

"There are no winners in war, only survivors..."
The fact that this has escilated to this level would indicate to me that both sides have already lost.

And yes I did look at your creedo, I still thought my answer was applicable.
Not "nobody" will win, but that "we" have already lost this war.

That's ok, and the CREDO wasn't going to help you with the answer, only point out where I myself am coming from.
What you say has merit, but is not what I was asking. The philosophical discussion on the conflict is in the other, the monster topic. |

Ditto.
You should ask who will lose this war.
My sons will be the losers, living in a hostile, unfriendly and dangerous world, fearing to travel unless they wear "I'm Canadian" shirts (something some US Government workers are already forced to do in countries like Egypt). A world with threats of nuclear conflict rising from the previously relatively stable international situation like a phoenix, the updrafts fueled by stupid public statements by public officials. A world brainwashed by narrow-minded media controlled by fewer than 10 individuals. A world where the US jails political prisioners a la Castro. A world where "Big Brother" spies on you without your knowledge. A world where tolerance and understanding are replaced by dogma and harshness.
The sons and daughters of much of the world will also lose. People who have the misfortune to live in any country not in favor with the US may suffer an invasion. People with differing religions and ideals will find their voices don't carry as well into the halls of power.
I sincerely hope none of the above come to pass, but the signs are not hopeful.
Many Iraqi's will win when their dictator is gone; many other Iraqi's will be dead.

Comes down to what your definition of "winning" is really I guess.
You can't really look at it as if it was a "game" or anything else for that matter, it just can't be simplified in this way.
