Has anyone ever sold "retired" website projects on Ebay, or is it a waste of time to try, as it appears to be?
I need to dump a website that has a few hundred hours development time into it that I just don't have time or interest for anymore. |

I've seen people selling portal applications on Ebay, worth trying anyway certainly better than just dumping it. |

From my experience on eBay, how much you get for it will depend more on your copy (i.e., what you say in your ad) than the actual quality of the product. Most of the people who will buy those things know very little about websites and don't know that other out-of-the-box solutions already exist; if you write infomercial-type copy in your ad, replete with stupid cursor tricks and lots and lots and lots of animated GIF's and <marquee> tags, you'll see your bids go up!!
EDIT: Don't mean to sound cynical. Just some observations of what the so-called Power Sellers do.
I'm sure your website is a good one, and I would wholeheartedly recommend that you try. I have always believed that gaining new experience is worth it, but even more so when you stand to profit from it!
Oh, one final thing--be prepared for others to steal your HTML if you make it freely available. You might want to consider uploading GIF's instead of the actual site. |

That's why I was skeptical, seems like there are only 1 or 2 legitimate websites for sale in the list of "get rich quick", viagra, and website domains claiming Saddam was the registrant but it expired. (that last was is just ridiculous)
