I agree, it should just say "Snitz Forums" on the logo and name, than at the bottom of the page it should say "Powered by Snitz Forums 3.4.03"
That way our end users know "what it is" without having to know the exact version, and we know the exact version with a quick glance.

It doesn't bother me none, but I am sure more people woudl consider using the software if it didn't sound outdated. |

No, keep the number just call it Snitz Forums 2100. That way you're good for another 97 years!
Just kidding. Drop the 2000. |

I hear the product name argument but also think that people easily infer an outdated product. The "2000" has more potential negative than postive, I think. "Snitz Forums" sounds great.

I think the "2000" should stay as it shows how sucessful the forum is as it indictates how long the forum has been around. When i first started prowling around for a forum for my site i decided on this one since its been around for a while. Im sure we all know whats its like to become a member of a forum and then the next day it be gone without a trace.

I think that

says how long the forum has been around and that it doesn't need to be in the title of the product. The website isn't www.snitz2000.com? |

I go along with the idea of dropping it and do agree that it makes the boards look dated

I don't mean to sound like an @$$, but I do feel that this comes at a very bad time after people got asked to make a logo with the name "Snitz Forums 2000". The longer the name, the more difficult to get it fitting in a good looking logo. If the 2000 indeed gets removed from the Snitz name, I don't think it'd be good/fair to change the logo that won the logo competition by removing the "2000" part. A new round for a new logo sounds like a better and fairer idea IMO in that case. |

From my point of view everybody I know who uses Snitz just call's it Snitz's Forums anyway.
Droping the 2000 look's like a good idea to me and will keep the forum much less 'timestamped'. |

Frutzle, you make a very good point but having another round of logo designing seems rather unfair on the winner. I guess you could say that it was only the logo that inspired the possible change anyway! |
