does it do it on it's own or does it happen when you are typing or otherwise interacting with the computer?

if it does it on it's own ... you may need an exorcist

Does it on is own mostly when I get near the edge of the screen with the curser. always when I am using the mouse. Never when typing.or when i drag across a tool bar. a while ago after doing it my tool bar had doubled in size to a quarter screen next time it went to a half screen and guess what third time full screen. I think and exorcist may be in order. Sonny

Which version of Norton are you running? It sure sounds as though you have a trojan horse.

If you aren't running a current version with current virus definitions, then you should get Norton AV 2003 Pro, uninstall the old one and use Norton 2003 to restart your computer & scan from DOS.

If you are already running NAV 2003 - make sure it's coming on and isn't disabled when you restart.

Next thing you may want to try is one of the free online scan/repair services. Trend Micro offers one at this location: Housecall

Are you using one of those optical mice? Sometimes when they start to fail, the mouse cursor starts to go crazy and moves and clicks automatically, and even windows may start to scroll up and down for no reason. It's usually a sign that the mouse is dying, usually caused by a faulty connection between the cable and where it connects physically to the mouse.

With my wireless optical this happens when the battery in the mouse is low.
