I'm pretty sure I remember a MOD (might have been part of another MOD) that added a link to the post page where it would popup a window that showed extended characters such as:

™ © ®

and you just needed to click on them and they would be added to the Textarea.

Haven't been able to find it...

clicking on them will insert them into the textarea, the description of each one pops up when you hover over it.
