I have snitz forum on my site www.weeweeslap.com / www.coastercrazy.com and well I was told by the techs of the host that my forum was abusing resources!!!!!!!!!! They unpluuged my entire site since the whole site was modded and uses snitz. They asked me to move on a dedicated server for $200!!!!!!!!!!! Man I'm pist off! They have other people on the same server using snitz forums that have been there longer than I have yet they have not been kicked off. I was only using about 4-5 gigs of bandwidth a month too, and I've been on there for less than one month too! Unbelieveable! Anyone know a good host that wont give me this? I need good amount of spacwe, currently using close to 100 megs but grow everyday due to file exchange upload/down. I am using 4-5 gigs a month but expect to use more sooner though and uhmmm I need SQL! My database and code was written to work on SQL, I tried access but it's it wont run on it. You suggestions are very well appreciated. thanks or idf you know some low priced dedicated servers I'll look intothem too. Thanks!

Wow, thats bad luck weeweeslap, did the techs tell you what the problem was? Maybe some of the code you have is taking too much resources and can be mended?

Your forum was disabled for resource abuse to the server, which caused many issues for other clients whos domains reside on the same server. Also your third party chat app is not allowed in a shared environment. Your chat has also been disabled.

Please be advised that your forum and your chat app will not be enabled under any circumstances, however you do have a few options.

To continue running the site in its current state, you could choose to opt for a dedicated server solution, where you would have full control of the server and be the only domain on the server.

You can also opt to go to a shared unix solution where you could use a forum called yabbse that uses a mysql back end.

This info comes from the abuse team, which makes them the only contact for this issue.

abuse@supportteam.net is the abuse team email address.

If you have any questions, please let us know. Thank you.

Best regards,

That's the e-mail. I've e-mailed their abuse team yet no response at all.

That's not an exorbitant amount of bandwidth.

There are plenty of good options availalable, especially if you're not consuming so much bandwidth.

A lot of people ask this question here, and the most common answers are:

  • http://www.reddi-web.com (HuwR's hosting company)

  • http://www.kiwibloke.com (Gremlin's hosting company)

A couple other Snitzers are offering hosting, too, if I recall correctly.

A reminder: Remember, no webhost bashing!! Not allowed here!!

    EDIT: URL changed.

I've been using Sectorlink for almost 2 years now, never had any problems. They're a great host with great prices. You could check them out.

sectorlink, I cannot go to because more than 50% of my bandwidth is from downloading files and after reading their policy I would be booted right away LOL
    www.webdomainservices.net is "coming soon"
www.free-hosts.info <--well I need something better than a free host, I've had them and do not work well anough for my sites needs and do not provide enough bandwidth and webspace. I just can't find one that has sa.file up and aspimage and that has sql database on win2k server with around 500 mb of webspace under $35 a month, a reliable host that is.
