Here are a few random questions that I thought I would try to get some "litmus test" responses from. When I mention "advertising" in any of my questions, it means either a banner ad, block ad, or full page directory type business profile (address, city, state, phone, fax, description, etc..) specific to 1 industry.
1. If you were visiting a site you wanted to advertise your business on, and the only way to pay for the advertising was through a Paypal subscription, what would be your reaction?
2. What would be the top reasons you would choose not to advertise on a website, even if you were convinced the advertising itself would bring results?
2 for now, more to follow if I get good feedback.

1. If I really want to subscribe/Pay, I don't care.
2. Cost, Cost and Cost. |

1. Shouldn't matter.
2. I do not and would not advertise on some of my sites because I feel strongly that the ads should somewhat match the content of the site. For instance, I run a Nine Inch Nails website. In no way would I want to advertise for web host services, dating services, etc. I would be very specific about the advertising. I may or may not allow companies like music labels of a similar genre advertise or something like that. Advertising just takes away from the design of the site. You could end up with a bright pink banner on a dark site and it would just look very tacky. |
