*raises hand* - I did during my 3.1SR4 days. Sorry to say I have no real code for you to use but I based my point system on several things. First, the moderators could give a rating score based on a post that a member made that went towards their point system. They were also automatically given points based on the length of their replies, number of posts in a day, yada, yada, yada. Once they hit certain levels of points they were awarded access to a private forum. They could also LOSE points for misbehaving and lose access to certain features like Avatar Uploads, Custom Titles, etc.
How did you plan on awarding your points to members? |

What i was thinking is:
Mods have 50 points a day to give out to any members they feel fit
Admins have as many points as they like to give out
you get two points for each post made
Then you can spend your points on things (Ie avatars)
DB:
in the members field:
M_POINTSSPENT - long
M_EXTRAPOINTS - long
M_POINTS _ long
The points you get would be added up in a total that would never go down, no matter how many points you spend but, then it would also show how many points you get each month, and thats where the points would be taken from when you spend them.
Prolly missed out loads of my ideas i have been having but, i can always add them  |

Here's the point system on ActiveBass.com. Only some of this will translate to Snitz.
How Does the Point System Work?
20 points for creating a home page
20 points for each featured article
20 points for each MP3 submission
10 points for each published lesson page
-10 points for each published lesson page with no information
4 points for each resource
4 points for each resource review
3 points for each e-mailed link
2 points for each FretBuzz message
1 points for each login per day
1 points for each feedback message |

Ok, thanks. It might take me about a week or so to rip all the code out of my site and implement it into a base snitz install.
Also, although I have been working with the snitz code for about a year now, this is my first real MOD, so you'll have to bear with me. I'll have a test version ready as soon as I can. |
