Howdy,

I just set up a new forum with MWP 2.11 front end. I set up areas with Allowed Member List (hidden) as I have done on other Snitz forums... However, it seems something is amiss... When I register a new test user he can see all the forums without being added to the "allowed member list". I have private forums turned on... is there some other security thing I am missing?

Thanks

You're running a MaxWeb Portal. They have changed our code, so I cannot guarantee that any advice I can give will be applicable. Better try their tech support.

So is it not possible to have the following "groups" of users and forums:

unregistered users - access to read "public" areas only
registered users - access to read and post in "public" areas
members - access to read and post in "public" and private areas
leaders - access to read and post in "public", private and leaders areas
over-21 members - access to read and post in "public", private and password-protected areas

I am looking for security granularity at both the forum and user level. Any ideas?

User Groups mod is your best bet.
