Yes, very sad. Hearing the news brings back the memory of the Challenger catastrophe.

Hope dies last.

It's really an incredibly feeling watching the shuttle break apart in TV and thinking about the crew inside. I feel truly sad for them.

A terrible event, my thoughts are with the families of the astronauts.

It is also the anniversary week of the 1986 Challenger disaster.

I'm watching it on Sky News right now. 7 astronauts on board.

My thoughts are with you guys, and especially the families. My wife heard it on the 6am radio news, and we've been watching the tv since 7 (only 0720 now). I still remember the Challenger disaster, asn we were only talking about it the other day.

May they Rest In Peace.

A very sad day indeed.

In the history of manned space flight excluding the space shuttle, I believe that five or less people have died in space. However, over the twenty two years of the shuttle program, fourteen people have died.

The Challenger 7 died becuase of NASA administration's management error. They gave a Go for launch and ignored the safe launch temerature conditions for the Challenger. I sincerely hope that NASA management isn't behind the Columbia incident as well.
