I wanna run my forum from my computer while i add new MODS and things, only one thing.... I have a windows XP Home computer and i dont know how to go about this, last thing i remember seein said i cant... any help?

Do you have an old machine lying around? You could set that up as a testing server if you have Windows 98 or something else on it. As far as using your XP Home machine as a server, I'm not sure but I know it doesn't have IIS on it like the Pro version does.

do a search for PWS. I think people have some degree of success running PWS on XP HOme.

Are you saying that you want to use your local machine for testing? If so, you need to install IIS. I used a book to walk me through it (Wrox's ASP.NET for Beginners).

<edit>Oh, you've got XP Home, eh? Yeah, I don't think that has IIS on it.</edit>

Or are you saying you want to use your home computer to host your live site on the Internet?

I duuno, i am just offline right now so, i will have a good look at it 2moro.


From what i know i may need to upgrade to xp pro or grab a few DDL's from it.
