Ok, this is not for me, it's a friend.. i would say it all but i cannie be arsed so i will copy the convo
quote:Sarah says: Right. Sarah says: when i got hosted in june at ill-advised.net Sarah says: kate gave me my site ill-advised.net/sairbear Sarah says: and that email address sairbear@ill-advised.net Sarah says: but i duno how 2 use it or forward them mail 2my hotmail or whatever Sarah says: so ive got itbut i dont know how 2 use it :X
How about you tell her to ask her host how she can access and/or forward the emails sent to that address
I told her that and her host has not been online for a few months and she can not get hold of her so i said i would ask all the smart ppl over here as i know your all so nice
There's not much we can do without knowing a) if she has a webmail interface where she can set properties such as forwarding or b) if she knows the smtp on pop mail server addresses to receive her email.
My advise to her is to get a new host, one that is available when you need help, and explains what can and can't be done with the hosting package. It sounds like she's using one of those "basement hosts" who found something else/better to do...
