Several members have expressed the difficulties the users on their forums face while selecting Birthdate. Changing Year or Month requires that they must click on "GO" Button and then select the day from the calendar. The problem arises when a user changes the year and month but forgets to click on the "GO" button and clicks the day in th calendar asssuming/believing that he has selected the correct birthdate. Result the user finds that his/her Age is 13 Years.
I also found the whole process of selecting birthdate annoying...
So here is Bye Bye to "GO" Button and if you selected your birthdate correctly you will never be a 13 years old child again.

Posted in the Dev Discussions to have opinions for the interface (calendar) and how it works in different browsers. If it works without any problems, I will post the required changes and may be those changes can be implemented in the base code. Requires Minor changes. |

Works in NN 6.2 although there are some weird things with the height of the row in certain months... There are some major problems with those forums in NN 4.72, the biggest I came across being that I can't login to edit the profile (to test the birthday thing) Opera 6.03 seems to have trouble with your site's layout aswell, but the birthday thing works (although there's the same row height "problem" as with NN6.2) Netscape 7.0 and Mozilla work without problems except again the row height of the week with the selected day sometimes seems too big. |

I have that done but so far works only in IE. Trying to fix that for NN. I can test only with IE and NN6.2 and it works.

Thanks GauravBhabu for taking up this matter. in IE 5.5 it works. No harm to put a reminder for them to select month and year before selecting the date. Kind of puzzle for me the first time when I just click on date and the calendar gone, but nice to see the selected date appear near the calendar icon.

How do you think the select boxes will be simpler? And What is complex about datepicker? |

Using the datepicker: 1. Click on the datepicker and wait for the pop-up to load 2. Select month and year, click go, then wait for the page to refresh 3. Select the day from the calendar 4. Submit the profile page.
If you simply had 3 select boxes for month, day and year: 1. Select month, date and year 2. Submit the profile page. |
