Hello All,
I'm looking for a MOD that is like a post-it note, only the member that posts it can see it. Just a little note that can be attached to a topic or reply, you can remind to reply to it, or even an unfinished reply. Is there anything like this?

Wow, thats a neet idea.
You could take something like that and make it like a private messaging system.
Tags like so:
[Note For{RicardKinser, HuwR, Davio}]
Only Richard, Huw and Divid can read this.

Wait, Nope, with that, you can only have everyone see it, or just Admins, Moderators etc. I would like one where you set a note, then only you can see it, and maybe the Admins.
Does anyone have the knowledge for this? |

| do you want every one can add a note to a topic? then you need another table rather than new fields in the topic table, with note_id, member_id, topic_id, note content, note_type, maybe also note_time etc in it. if the mod posted above does not do it. what's your idea on archive then? how do you want to limit the use of notes, archive it with posts archive or delete it after certain time, or limit total notes by a member? |

Theres no way I can write this (Just so you all know, I'm also an ASP newbie), But I would jusat have them deleted after 20 Days, and each member would only be alloed 10 notes per forum.
And only you can see your notes, and only others can see their notes. |

i know jeffrey have a similar "Personal Notes" plan as your demand sometime ago..

but not sure is this mod done or not...
and about the "Topic Notelet"... yes, unless you set it to "Author Only" or "SuperAdmin Only", or it's NOT a "personal" notes! it may just a simple note "attach" to topics, not base on users/members system.
as bjlt mentioned, it really hard to control the "size" or "loading" of a personal notes mod. if you've a lots members and a lots topics, then you'll face to (a lots)x(a lots) personal notes..
i have some idea to redo this Notelet mod, base on Bookmarks mod, and integrated with Sticky, Message Icon and this Notes feature... to make it really a "Personal" notes addon. but i think i may also no ability to make it work.  
anyway, it's a good idea to "personal notes attached to topic or reply"(and should be a very useful mod.), maybe someone will interested to do it !  |

Your MOD is nice, but it just needs that personal thing. If everyone can see it, then you might as well just post it. Maybe I'll talk to Jeff. |
