This is to install 3 mods for forum version 3.4.03 only,(Preferably a fresh version 3.4.03) and using access 2000 only. Also this is for english versions only. (I haven't tried these on anything else)
I put this together for the people like me, who may not have much experience in asp. I too was having trouble at first getting these to work right. Now that they all work, I figured that I would also try to help others so that they could install these easily. You won't have to modify any files except for the config.asp to point to your database. :) EnjoY!
The 3 mods are: Active users 4.0.17, Private messages 3.4, and Smile Manager Plus 1.2.1.

I hope no comments means its working correctly! LOL Hey, once you get those three Mods added and make sure they are working, I have Davio's Poll Mod set up and working(thanks Davio for all the help) to go with those 3 mods. You can easily add it on to the 3_mod_files. Its made only to add on to the 3_Mod_Files, so you must first have those 3 mods added and working. :) I will post a link in the next day or so to the added poll mod zip. :)
UPDATE: OK here is the poll mod add-on, remember this is only to ADD poll mod AFTER you install the 3_Mod_Files package!!

Your welcome.
This is 3 Mods combined. Active users (shows who is online), Private Messages (send private messages on your forum), and Smile manager Plus (You can add more smilies to your site easily). You can download the zip file and Install all 3 of these mods together with one easy installation. You won't have to change any files except your config.asp to put your path to your database. Remember, this is for forum Version 3.4.03 and using Access 2000, and it is for English version.
After you install these 3mods, I will have 1 more that you can add. It will be POLL mod by Davio, and with it you can have polls on your forum, for people to vote on whatever you want them to vote on. :) |

| hmmm I honestly am not sure. I haven't personally tried them on anything other than ms access 2000. I would think its very possible, by using a different connection string, but I guess you would have to check with the authors who made all of these mods. They have much more knowlege than me on asp and all. I just got them all working together (with the other guys help) on access and all, and thought I would make a zip for others to be able to download without having to modify anything. Maybe one of the other guys (authors) will see this and be able to answere your question about using MySQL. :) |

I have it fully working with MS SQL there were no issues
but the poll mod is missing a ' on line 382 (I think) of active.asp
in the modified files dir

I have the smile manager and poll tool installed already. Can I still use your files to add the others? I've read that adding all these mods can be a headache so what you created is such a help. I just don't want to try to install your stuff and have a bigger headache  Thanks
forgot to ask, how about the events mod? Do you have that installed to? |
