Firstly, you should post this in the MOD Add-On Forum (W/O Code) forum, as this is a mod question and not about the current forum version.
AU will show that whenever a visitor is viewing a page that starts with admin_ in its name. If a member tries to view such a page, he/she will only get the admin-login page, they cannot enter the admin section unless they know the password of one of the admins.
Also, if you dont have the most recent version of Active Users then it may incorrectly report some users as in admin options when they are editing their posts. ( A bug on my part )
I would check your server logs and if this person was definately in the admin area I would not hesitate in locking their account and watching to see if someone with the same IP registered again or used the same email address. No one that even attempts to hack one of my sites would remain a member seconds after I was sure. But in case this is a bug I would definately make the server log my main source.

I don't think it is. I believe the Nathan gave the explanation for the ocurrence when he talked abou the bug. It has happened in my forum, but I don't have the latest Active Users version.
