Malicious users can make scripts run without your permission.

Well, can they do anything bad if I just add basic HTML code, like SRC, and HREF, Page alignments etc? |

If you enable HTML, they can insert all HTML tags into their posts. |

we've had countless discussions on this... its been proven just how bad it can be so I am strongly against allowing members to use HTML. However, there is an admin html feature mod around here somewhere. |

If you only want to allow a few HTML tags that currently aren't available as Forum Code, then perhaps you could create new Forum Code tags to suit your needs? That way you won't have to enable HTML and will allow everyone to use those tags.
Also, if you only allow admins and/or moderators to use HTML (by installing the MOD Dayve mentioned), you could get some weird problems when their posts are quoted by those who aren't allowed to use HTML. That might've been thought of and be fixed, but nevertheless it's something to keep in mind. |
