yes, indeed. This tech job market isn't the best in the world. I'm going to start going after my MCDBA in January....after I treat myself to a new computer...plus, Santa is bringing me a new LCD monitor |

The Fun Is Officially Over Just kidding, just find a job you love and you'll never have to work another day in your life... I know that sounds cliche but I've found it to be true. |

Hey, well done!!
Funny thing is many degrees don't get you wise to the real world, corporate cultures, real problem-solving etc, but your time and involvement with Snitz should me an you step out ahead of your co-studiers with a bit more 'real-world' savvy.
Keep us up-to-date with how you find it, shocks, surprises, lessons etc 'cos we all care (awwwwwww ) and don't want to lose your input!
Well done - enjoy the next steps |

that's my main problem, I worked with GPLed stuff mostly, but that's not something you can put on your resume (or can you?) |

David K CERTAINLY put it on your CV - there's companies out there who rely on (say) Apache on Linux, blah blah blah.
If i get your CV in my inbox, first I want to know what skills you've already gained, second I want to know how well you can understand different systems. Don't just list everything you've ever heard of, but put stuff you're comfy with. It just may make thet 0.5% difference in getting you to interview, which is where we can discuss your GPL habits .
Very worthy is if you've been involved in developing code/mods/whatever under GPL for a project - it's something to stand out about you, more likely to want to meet you and chat with you |
