I copied pop_profile.asp to pop_profile_pending.asp, and changed references to MEMBERS to be MEMBERS_PENDING (using an alias as MEMBERS in the select statement so all the field references didn't need to be changed). About 15 or changes required.
Combined with the original suggestion, it works fine.

I have not tried but changing the table name (dynamically) in the sql in pop_profile.asp may do what is being asked for.

The send email link will not work correctly as it requires changes in pop_mail.asp |

I didn't notice that, but then, I wasn't planning to use that link anyway. Thanks for pointing it out.

If you grab the file Richard provided above, search m_ip and replace with m_surname and then search m_name and replace with m_firstname, you will get first name and last name.
email me if you want a copy of my file. I've got the full name working and changed the display to be first name, last name, email, others from left to right.

Sorry, more dumbo newbie questions. I have downloaded Richard's admin_accounts_pending.asp file from the link in his post above.
(a) Can the file safely be used to overwrite the existing standard file without any other consequences (I assume it's been thoroughly tested) and
(b) Does anything else need to be done or is this sufficient to give me the IP address of new applicants for mebership.
Thanks. |

Sorry to bump this but I do need to know the answers to my questions before I start messing around with asp files! TIA. |

Just make a back up of your "old" file and upload the new one. If it doesn't do what you want, you can always replace the new one with the old. |

From earlier posts in this topic, I know several of you have done this, but no one has posted a finished mod for it yet. I took everyone's comments and implemented one for myself:
- I copied the Snitz 3.4.03 pop_profile.asp to pop_profile_pending.asp and went to town
- I stripped out the unnecessary code for editing
- I modified the email slightly since the old link wouldn't work
- I made it a pop-up window, rather than a link
- I trimmed the headers to be more appropriate for a pop-up window
I am confident most of you can take what I've done and make it infinitely better, but the least I could do was to post it here so others reading this topic wouldn't have to start from scratch...
My zip file and disclaimers are at http://www.geocities.com/gelliott/snitz/
